CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) offers an e-book collection giving researchers access to more than 15,000 academic and historical e-books from China’s most authoritative scholarly publishers. With new e-books added continuously, CNKI has established agreements with 40 authoritative publishing houses, including People’s Medical Publishing House, China Renmin University Press, China Social Sciences Press, Central Compilation & Translation Press etc. All publications are specially selected for the needs of academic research and are mainly historical, informative, and research-oriented.
It covers 136 subjects in 10 categories: Philosophy & Religion, Language & Literature, History, Politics/Law/Military, Economic & Social Sciences, China & the World, Ethnic Group & Geography, Art, Medicine/Pharmacy/Healthcare, Science & Technology.
MPI Library currently provides access to nearly 7,000 selected titles on Politics/Law/Military, China & the World, Medicine/Pharmacy/Healthcare subject areas with Patron Driven Acquisition (PDA) models*. You are welcome to use.
*PDA (Patron Driven Acquisition) - is a model of library collection development in which library provides the patron with access to an agreed list of not-yet-owned e-books. When certain thresholds are reached for an item (e.g. opening, viewing a specified number of pages), the library purchases the item and delivers instant access to patrons.
