Primo is a discovery tool for searching most of the Library resources from a single interface, and provides relevance ranked results from both materials in print and online resources purchased or subscribed by the Library. Such as books, scholarly journals, articles, e-books, theses and dissertations, open-access resources, and more.
Primo is good for conducting quick and easy searches across all the Library resources. For more specialized searching on article databases, we recommend that you search individual databases access from the E-Resources Portal.
E-Resources Portal provides a list of all databases, e-journals and other electronic resources the library licenses for your use. This is the first step to help you find the right database, then you can start your research by searching for your topic from that database's interface.
BrowZine is a new platform where you can quickly and easily browse, read, and monitor the online journals that are available from the Library (mainly in English) or through Open Access publishers, covering all disciplines.
To access BrowZine from your smartphone or tablet, download the BrowZine app from the appropriate app store.
Google Scholar is a freely accessible search engine that searches a wide variety of academic sources including academic books, journal articles, theses and conference papers. When connecting Google Scholar with the Library access, FullText@MPI links will appear to the right of your search results when a document can be accessed via MPI Library subscriptions.
Access Google Scholar with the above link will automatically connect you with the Library access. Having problems with connecting your access? Simply set up your Google Scholar as follows:
- Go to Google Scholar
- Click on Settings from the side menu
- Find "ipm" from the Library Links

Picture Post Historical Archive
The Picture Post Historical Archive comprises the complete archive of the Picture Post from its first issue in 1938 to its last in 1957 - all digitized from originals in full color. Provides a fascinating snapshot of British life from the 1930s to the 1950s, with thousands of photos of ordinary people doing ordinary things – from boys rolling a tyre, to a view of a postwar bedsit, to young women on a rollercoaster – all caught in a single moment in time.
The Library holds a number of local and overseas newspapers in print format, the most recent issues can be found on newspaper racks and the retention period is one week. Library users can access the back issues through the news clipping systems or newspaper source databases.
The Library subscribes to a variety of printed academic journals, the current issues are displayed on the periodical stacks and are arranged by the Library of Congress (LC) Class scheme. Back issues are kept inside the stacks or in the storage room, please ask the library staff for accessing the back issues.

The ProQuest Dissertation & Theses Global (PQDT)™ database is the world's most comprehensive curated collection of multi-disciplinary dissertations and theses from around the world, offering over 5 million citations and 2.7 million full-text works from thousands of universities.
OpenDissertations is an open-access database built to assist researchers in locating both historic and contemporary dissertations and theses. Created with the generous support of the H.W. Wilson Foundation and the Congregational Library & Archives in Boston, it incorporates EBSCO's previously released American Doctoral Dissertations, and features additional dissertation metadata contributed by select colleges and universities from around the world. Providing researchers with citations to graduate research across a span of time, from the early 20th century to the present, this database will continue to grow through regular updates and new partnerships with graduate degree-granting institutions.

RCAAP - Repositórios Científicos de Acesso Aberto de Portugal
The RCAAP portal is an aggregator (meta-repository) that collects the description (metadata) of documents deposited in various institutional repositories, research data repositories and scientific journals in Portugal.
Faculty can set aside Library physical items such as textbooks and other course readings in the Course Reserves sections of the Library.
All the reserved materials can only be used in the Library and cannot be borrowed. Those who need to use the materials should contact the Library Circulation Counter.
Lam Kan (original name Lin Sui Shi, 1923-2004) was a well-known Macau art master. Mr. Lam is famed on his outstanding achievements in Chinese painting, calligraphy, and seal carving. Lam Kan was the president of the Macau Association of Calligraphy and Sculpture of Seals, Chairman of the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao, honorary member of the Xiling Seal Art Society, Visiting Professor of the Macao Polytechnic Institute and Nanjing Normal University. In 2001, Lam Kan was awarded the Medal of Merit – Culture by the Macao SAR Government for his significant contribution to the local art and culture.
Mr. Lam was a patriot and he cared about the development of MPI. Therefore, he donated his private collection to MPI in 2000. The "Lam Kan Special Collection" was founded in 2001. This Collection includes monographs on art, Chinese calligraphy, seal, painting, etc. The expansion work was carried out in 2005. The Collection is for in house use only.

Prof. Daisaku Ikeda is a peace builder, Buddhist philosopher, educator, author and poet. He was the third president of the Soka Gakkai lay Buddhist organization in Japan, founding president of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI) and founder of several international institutions promoting peace, culture and education.
In 2011, Macao Polytechnic Institute presented Daisaku Ikeda with an honorary professorship and his son (SGI Vice President) Hiromasa Ikeda on behalf of his father received the certificate. At the same time, Mr. Hiromasa Ikeda, on behalf of the SGI, presented 398 titles on 12 languages of Dr Daisaku Ikeda’s works to MPI. This collection is placed at the “Lam Kan Special Collection” for in-house use only.

The Academic Journal of "One Country, Two Systems", an academic periodical, most likely the only one so far dedicated to theoretical research with exclusive focus on discussions and practice relating to the "One Country, Two Systems" principle, is now launched to researchers and the general public. It should have come as no surprise to the academic community. Rather than unexpected, it is an inevitable outcome following the development trends of the current situation, the establishment of the Special Administrative Regions (SARs), and the effective implementation of the Basic Law of the two SARs in China.
